Emmanuel De Guzman, PhD is a married theologian from the Philippines. He is a fulltime professor of Systematic Theology at St. Vincent School of Theology (SVST) – Adamson University, where he is also the Director for Theological and Pastoral Services, and Acting Director for Research and Publications. Among the regular courses he teaches are “Fundamental Systematic Theology,” “Doing Contextual Theology in Asia,” “Doing Theology for Beginners,” “Doing Theology of Every Life,” “Theology and Praxis of the Laity,” “Theology and Spirituality of the Federation of Bishop’s Conferences,” as well as “Christology” and “Ecclesiology” on occasional basis. He directs the Synthesis Course for the Comprehensive Examinations, and coordinator of the Synthesis Paper and Thesis Writing of graduating students. He is in-charge of SVST’s Introductory Theological Formation program and the HaPág-Layko program. He also teaches “Introduction to Theology” at the Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia, “Introduction to Pastoral Studies” at East Asia Pastoral Institute, “Introduction to Theologies of Migration” and “Ecclesiology and Ministries in Migration Context” at Loyola School of Theology, “Shifting Paradigms of Culture, Church and Mission” at the Euntes Mission Center – Zamboanga City, and a resource person on “The Role of the Laity in the Ministry to Migrants” in the Exodus Training for Pastoral Workers of the CBCP’s Episcopal Commission for Migrants and Itinerant Peoples. He is co-founder of the Damdaming Katoliko sa Teolohiya or DaKaTeo (Catholic Theological Society of the Philippines).
