September Celebration

September Celebrations
September 18, 2015

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

Greetings in St. Vincent!

I would like to remind you about the celebrations we have in the month of September.

1.      Misa ng Sangnilikha. On September 19 at 5:30 P.M., SVST sponsors the novena Mass for St. Vincent de Paul at the Santuario. In line with the Pope’s call in Laudato Si, we are preparing a Mass for Creation (Misa ng Sangnilikha). This is an institutional activity sponsored by the Spiritual Ministry. Everyone is asked to participate. Please come in your ethnic attire.

2.      SVST Day. On September 24, we celebrate the traditional SVST Day. Originally, this was set on September 25 but since this day was proclaimed recently by the government as a non-working holiday, we move our celebration to September 24. This is our annual celebration of the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul, our school patron. We ask our professors to cancel their classes. All students expected to be in the campus on that day. Our activities will start at 8 AM. The detailed program is in the Social Ministry board.

3.      Eco-March for the Protection of our Common Home. On October 4, there will be a march for the care of creation from SVST to the Quezon Circle. It starts with a Mass here at 6:00 AM and ends with an interfaith prayer service at the Quezon Circle at around 8:30 P.M. We encourage all students to attend. The Advocacy and Networking Ministry will post the details on the board.

4.      Ebanghelyo, Ibang Kwento is a photo exhibit (and solidarity concert) at the SVST Lounge which runs from September 18 - 25, 2015. Please visit and see the experiences of peoples from the margins at the mission areas, political detainees and lumad struggle. This is sponsored by the Vincentian Popular Mission Team and other advocacy groups.

Please be guided accordingly.

Sincerely,

Daniel Franklin Pilario, C.M.
Dean
