Rolando Tuazon has been involved in the ministry of seminary formation for many years. He now holds the post as Rector of St. Vincent Seminary, while teaching Moral Theology courses at St. Vincent School of Theology and other schools of theology. Recently, he received an additional assignment as the Administrator and Project Director of Santuario de San Vicente De Paul Shrine, forcing him to combine his works on formation and teaching with his responsibilities in building and pastoral running a Shrine. Before being ordained a priest, he worked as a cultural orientation teacher and trainer at the International Catholic Migration Commission of the Philippine Refugee Center in Bataan (1988). He also had a chance to teach at Adamson University as Theology Instructor in 1989. For a period of time in 1990, he got involved in development work as a community organizer of the Agency for Community Educational Services (ACES) in Nueva Ecija. After returning to the seminary, he continued his involvement and exposure to different sectors until he was ordained a priest in the Congregation of the Mission in 1993. For his first assignment as a priest, he served as Director of Orientation Year II Program Formation at the De Paul House in Quezon City. Such initial involvement was just the beginning of a long ministry in seminary formation. From 1994-1998, he served in different capacities: as student director, a Philosophy-Theology instructor and Rector of St. Vincent’s College Seminary in Quezon City. He also became the Chair of the Provincial Commission on Initial Formation of the CM Philippine Province. Before he could receive more specialized training in teaching and formation, he was granted his request to have pastoral ministry for a year as parochial vicar and a member of the Popular Mission at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Toward the end of 1999, he went to Belgium to pursue his further studies in Moral Theology as he got himself involved in some pastoral works with the Filipino migrants. He was able to produce researches and articles and presented papers in conferences in Belgium and in the Philippines.
